A family is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Avery, who was tragically taken from them on August 5, 2026, at just 13 years old. Although her life was far too short, those who loved her are remembering a young girl whose kindness, energy, humor and love brought light into the lives of everyone around her.
Avery was born on August 2, 2013, to her proud parents, Jena and Kody, and was lovingly welcomed into the family by her older brother, Weston.
Her family remembered Avery as someone who seemed to be a big sister to everyone around her. She was described as nurturing, intelligent, determined, witty and kind-hearted, with a personality that combined both sass and sweetness.
Dance was one of the great passions of Avery’s life. She was described as an incredible dancer who could bring energy and enthusiasm wherever she went. Music was equally important to her, and her family recalled how she could often be found playing music loudly, dancing in the kitchen or spontaneously dropping into the splits.
Her personality extended well beyond her talents. Avery had a reputation for making people laugh and helping others feel comfortable and included. Her family described her as someone with an enormous heart who was always willing to help anyone in need.
She loved her family and friends deeply and had a special affection for animals, camping and the things she enjoyed most. She was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Utah Jazz, while music remained one of the defining passions of her young life.
Avery also loved fashion, makeup, lip gloss and crafting. Her family remembered her as someone who embraced her individuality and expressed herself through the things she loved.
Her relationship with her siblings was another important part of her life. She was described as an enthusiastic supporter who cheered loudly for the people she loved. She was also a proud aunt to her nephew, Kohen, whose presence brought her particular joy.
Family Sundays held a special place in Avery’s heart. Those days could include church, coffee runs, Sunday soup and football, creating the kind of ordinary family traditions that often become treasured memories after someone is gone.
Her family also remembered her quick wit and ability to make people smile. She could turn an ordinary moment into something memorable with a joke, a comment or her unmistakable personality.
They described Avery as wise beyond her years, with an old soul and an ability to make people feel seen, loved and included. Her smile could brighten a room, and her presence had a way of making everyday experiences feel special.
For those closest to Avery, her death has created an unimaginable emptiness. Yet amid the grief, her family is holding onto the many memories she created during her 13 years of life.
They say that although Avery’s dance ended far too soon, the music she brought into their lives will never stop.
Avery is survived by her parents, Jena Tracy and Kody Tucker (Eden); siblings Weston Madalena (Hailey), Ambrie Brown and Autumn Flinders; nephew Kohen Madalena; and many other relatives and loved ones.
Her family will gather to remember and celebrate her life on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary. Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
A graveside service, including a butterfly release in Avery’s memory, will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden.
While her family is left with a grief that cannot easily be put into words, Avery’s memory will live through the people she loved, the family she cherished, the music she enjoyed and the countless lives she touched.
Her time was brief, but the love, laughter and light she brought to others will remain. Avery will continue to be remembered, celebrated and loved by all those whose lives were brighter because she was part of them.
