The Hamilton community is mourning the loss of 21-year-old Zenin Roussel, who died following a fatal stabbing in the city’s west end early Sunday, August 9, 2026.

According to Hamilton Police, officers were called at approximately 2:30 a.m. after a taxi driver discovered Roussel suffering from stab wounds on Main Street West near Frid Street. Emergency responders transported him to hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police subsequently identified the victim as a Hamilton resident. His family has been notified and has asked for privacy as they cope with the sudden loss.
Investigators believe Roussel and several other individuals had been at King Street Billiards before the establishment closed. Police say an altercation is believed to have taken place outside afterward on King Street West.
