One person was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 495 in Franklin Tuesday evening, according to Massachusetts State Police.
Troopers responded to the crash shortly before 5 p.m. after receiving reports of a collision involving two vehicles on the interstate.
One person was transported to a nearby hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said. No additional information about the victim’s identity or condition was immediately released.
The crash prompted authorities to temporarily shut down the roadway while emergency crews responded and investigators examined the scene.
The closure caused a disruption for motorists traveling through the area as police and other emergency personnel worked at the crash site.
According to Massachusetts State Police, all lanes were reopened at approximately 6:35 p.m. after the scene was cleared.
